This was one of those tasks where you look at the Haynes Manual and think, "how hard can it be". The answer is, not very. I have a qualified mechanic with me when I did mine, which I strongly recomend as there are so many pipes, sensors and wires to disconnect, it never hurts to have a professional to hand.
The actual manifold exchange wasn't too difficult though. The whole job took around 2 hours (this incorporates 2 cups of tea). The end result is a smooth running 2.5 V6 engine with no taps or rattles. Well worth the scuffed knuckles.
